Where on earth is harborne? 🌎

Harborne, Harborne, Harborne. This town has a lot going for it! Not just its amazing schools, picturesque houses or fantastic people - It's where we call home!

Harborne is a Victorian suburb of Birmingham, located three miles southwest of Birmingham City Centre, and it's our home.

That little blue pin is our office!

The area dates back to before 1086 when it was mentioned in the Domesday Book, a written survey more commonly known as “The Great Census” – some evidence of a roman fort have been discovered around the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Metchley Park.

So, what is the big attraction to the area?

Apart from the beautiful rows of 18th-century terrace houses - the area boasts a wide variety of boutique, local, and often independent shops, cafes, restaurants, and bars. You name it – we probably have it. With a mix of independent and bigger chain businesses, we are certain whether you need a lovely boutique gift, haircut, or bouquet you will be hard-pressed to not find it here.

Regardless of its shopping opportunities – the area also has its own local library, pool, fitness center, healthcare, and sports and wellness spaces to enjoy during your downtime.

Restaurants and bars are not in short supply here either (See the team’s favorites here). We have an array of Restaurants including Harborne Kitchen, Rustic Table, Sabai Sabai, The Plough, Zizzi, Pizza Express, and Slug and Lettuce – This list is just the tip of the iceberg! As a non-Quaker area, Harborne is home to a fantastic array of pubs and bars! So much so that there is a “Harborne Run” pub crawl which famously starts at one end of the high street and spans across 10-15 pubs (Depending on which pubs you include) finishing on the other end of the high-street, if you make it.

On a different note, Harborne boasts fantastic educational establishments including a variety of primary and secondary schools in the area – including Birmingham Blue Coat School, Harborne Primary School, Harborne Academy, and Lordswood Boys & Girls.

The area is part of the Birmingham City Council and has excellent bus and train connections including National Express Bus routes and a train station “University” near Birmingham city university – said transport options make it easy to commute in and out of the area and across Birmingham and the rest of the country.

In conclusion, we are not here to try to sell you Harborne. We serve all around including Kings Heath, Selly Oak, Bearwood, City Centre and Bournville (Yes that is a chocolate bar too).

We are just proud of where we and many others call home. On the off chance you’re here looking for homes in the area – get in touch, we would be more than happy to find you a place in our wonderful town. CLICK HERE to #DiscoverHarborne
